Been a good game dev and documented what I have been up to this October. I added destructible props such as bushes, trees and snowmen. They haven been working really well in scenes While I was on holiday I squeezed in some art and played around with giving AI some gloopy squishy animations This week I have been working on the player drawing mechanic. Making the circling more accurate and applying visual feedback. Making changes to the player mechanic in most games causes it to break so there are a few bugs in the video :)

A lot of behind the scenes work so not got much to show off. Enemies attacks are cleaner and can be triggered multiple times for a longer attack window. The spinning animation does work but got messed up in recording

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s still desperately hoping that they’ll make new Pokémon games with DIFFERENT premise.

Like…they made the Pokémon Ranger games and those were honestly my favourite! But they only made a few! And they had Pokémon Dungeons, which was also a smaller series of games where you get to play AS a Pokémon. Not my favourite, but I know people who adored them! And Pokémon Snap is well loved, but there’s only two!

There are so many jobs in the Pokémon universe that revolve around working with Pokémon, and you’re telling me that the only games worth making and selling are the trainer ones where you go around fighting? I call bull shit. Let me compete in Pokémon pageants (and make it a whole game, not just a little thing that you do a few times as an add on to a trainer game)! Let me be a Pokémon breeder! A Pokémon researcher! Let me run a restaurant or salon that caters to Pokémon! Make more spin-offs and ACTUALLY let me “explore the world of Pokémon like never before”!

Anyways, new headcanon: Perfect IV Pokémon are banned from all Interregional Pokémon League Association (IPLA) tournaments, and shinies are heavily discouraged, though not outright barred. The reason for this is to reduce the amount of inbreeding involved in obtaining a perfect IV or shiny Pokémon, which is something IPLA and Pokémon battling as a sport in general have come under fire for multiple times, from both barely-respected organisations like PETA Team Plasma, to proper organisations like the Ranger Union.

If a trainer wishes to use a shiny on their team in an IPLA tournament or as a member of an IPLA organisation (ie, as a regional Champion for example) they need to provide some form of evidence that it wasn't specifically bred to be shiny, usually either its Pokéball data to prove it was wild caught, or breeding papers to prove it was a happy accident. Neither is as straightforward as they sound, so most trainers just avoid the hassle completely.

Is it just me or is it very upsetting that Detective Pikachu Returns has zero hype right now, even though the game is about to release?

There's no Detective Pikachu subreddit (which is weird because there's the first game and a movie, surely there's some conversation and game screenshots to post about?) gaming subreddits and Pokémon subreddits aren't talking about it, someone on r/Pokéleaks pointed out that no-one is leaking it too.

I dunno, I got the first Detective Pikachu game for my birthday and spent all week playing it, and I was freaking out when the sequel was finally announced.

Where the heck is the Detective Pikachu subfandom, I feel like only five people are talking about it. Tumblr is pretty quiet about it too
